our wedding is one of the biggest days of your life and every bride deserves to be completely pampered. Booking wedding hair stylists and makeup artists, and deciding on dresses for your bridesmaids can often mean you forget to organise the lovely little touches for your wedding morning. Being the biggest wedding hair and makeup company in Scotland, we want to help you start your special day right, whether you are getting ready in a castle, luxury hotel or the new bridal prep room at the Byre at Inchyra.

Scented Candles

Nothing sets the mood quite like scented candles. Not only will you feel even more pampered while you are having your wedding hair and makeup styled, but you will have a scent which will now forever remind you of your special morning. We love something luxurious and floral, like the gorgeous Peony & Blush Suede Candle from Jo Malone.

Non-Bloating Breakfast Foods

Our biggest tip for every bride is – don’t skip breakfast! You have a long day ahead of you and a good breakfast will set you up for the day, giving you that much needed energy. We understand many brides are conscious of bloating on their wedding day, so why not try a light breakfast of eggs or oats, natural yoghurt and fruit. This will help set you up for the day and will avoid any bloating – making for a happy, confident bride.

Comfy (But Cool) Clothing

Wedding morning dilemma; what to wear?! Be sure to wear something comfortable, but keep in mind the photographers will be doing their thing, so keep it cool of course. It is also super helpful if you wear something that can easily be removed without messing up your freshly styled hair and makeup – a button down shirt or robe are the best options (robes make for super cute, chilled photos!)

The Perfect Playlist

Music is key for setting the perfect atmosphere; some brides prefer a chill, mellow vibe, while some prefer more upbeat music with some of your faves from your hen do. Ask a bridesmaid to put together a playlist for your wedding morning to set the perfect mood, she’ll know exactly what you love. For chilled mornings we love a bit of Bon Iver, or for something a little more upbeat we find a good Ibiza playlist.

Water (and maybe a little glass of champagne!)

Keeping hydrated is key! Drink plenty of water on the morning of your wedding to ensure you won’t be dehydrated when it comes to those all important vows. Water won’t make you bloat and will definitely help set you up for the big day ahead. One or two glasses of your favourite champagne are okay too, as long as you have lots of water too!

Comfortable Footwear

Most brides and bridesmaids will be in heels all day, so it is best to have the comfiest possible footwear for a relaxing morning. Some comfy flats, slippers, uggs or slides work perfectly, and you can switch to those gorgeous heels at the last second, saving you from aching feet before the day has kicked off.
